Your Agency’s Newest CISR…

Number One Agency recently celebrated a new CISR in the office. The one and only Barbara Lobdell, your favorite Worker’s Comp Underwriting Manager (and lovable queen of office sarcasm) very recently completed her last CISR class and passed the test. Congratulations to Barbara for achieving the CISR designation!

We are excited for her and I know that she was definitely happy about finally getting those five classes done and the tests passed. How do I know? Well, she took off to Jamaica for a week after her results came back in!

Getting through a designation program takes some will-power and is certainly a commitment, but in the end there is a feeling of accomplishment that you just don’t get when taking a one day class – even if you can’t get to go down to the Caribbean to celebrate afterward.

I’ve said before that I started the designation programs right after I got licensed because I needed to get more acquainted with the insurance industry. As a new agent working in a specialty agency, there were many policies that I never dealt with at all (auto for one) that most agents have a real working understanding of. CISR classes gave me the opportunity to learn about the coverage that I didn’t deal with on a day to day basis. These classes also gave me the chance to hear the questions and stories of  fellow agents both seasoned and new. (For the record, some of those stories were eye-opening, especially the claims stories.) And the loss control tips that most instructors work into their presentations didn’t hurt either.

Congratulations Barbara on becoming the latest CISR here at the Number One Agency and welcome back from a well-deserved vacation.

Who is the latest CISR or CIC at your agency? Toast to them in the comments…
